If you read my article this week, you’ll know it was fuelled by crafting a poem with the theme ‘stardust’ from a #PoemsAbout prompt on Bluesky, curated by the amazing
of Broken Spine Arts. Do follow the press, the person and the prompt if you’re at all interested in indie poetry. There’s a great community being forged there.Without further ado, here’s the poem, as requested by
and a few other poetry pals.Failed to render LaTeX expression — no expression found
‘Star Stuff’ We began with a bang; born from stars. Fused into existence inside a helium core, elements created, with the first light shining on a swirling universe. We are the cosmos knowing itself. We are carbon, nitrogen, oxygen, water - star stuff. Something greater than ourselves is what we long for, is what we are a part of. Look under a microscope at human ashes and you will see galaxies - a universe Hubbled together. We are never lost, we are simply heading home, stardust to stardust.
Wow! I love it, I agree with Beth Brook's comment.
The core idea reminds me of a quote: "We are all just walking eachother home".Ram Dass.
Yes, definitely 'hubbled together'. 😀
