It sounds just right. I often get overly stressed when we have visitors, too determined to show all the best bits of them the island or take them where they want to go. That plus all the cooking and prep and it’s not always as stress-free and relaxed as it should be. Fabulous that you managed to get some time-out for yourself to recharge
Yes, it’s easy to get stressed about visitors. I must admit I have a bit of a cooking and cleaning frenzy beforehand so I can chill when they’re with us. It’s tempting to want to show them everything as you say, but they can always come back! A relaxed holiday is, I think, better for guests and hosts. Anyway, they’re friends, so they wouldn’t want us to be stressed about their stay! I’m quite tired now, but then I don’t usually stay up quite so late!
Thanks for signing up for my email. I’ve signed up back, on your cost free plan and will check out your writes. Looks great. 👍🏻
Beautifully put, slowing down sounds such a simple thing but habits take over and we soon pick up the pace. I know the simple pleasure of walking the dog at the end of the working day, but sometimes I forget to use this as a transition to the quieter part of the day and my head stays full and I miss the sights of the changing common. It sounds like a lovely week x
Thanks for reading, Kimberley and for your considered comments. You’re so right about habits taking over. We have to be deliberate about slowing down and taking time, I think.Dog walking is great for contemplation and chilling! x

It beats working hard and 'playing hard'.
I never understood that idea. Not surprisingly it comes out of the mouths of men...
