It is genocide and saying so doesn’t make us apologists for Hamas (whose actions on the 7th of October were truely evil). It makes us decent human beings.

I agree, of course, but there’s an element out there that conflates anything pro-Gaza as anti-semitic and it’s a dangerous and worrying precedent. Governments need to act and bring the weight of international law to bear and I can’t understand why they don’t. How can the state of Israel get away with abhorrent actions we would criticise in others.

You are absolutely right. Truthfully I am in despair about this. I can give donations, lobby my MP, sign petitions and write but that’s not enough. The roots of this situation have much to do with Britain’s behaviour just after WWII. Genocide. I feel that we all must name this as it is.

I agree with you, Beth. It isn’t enough, but it’s more than nothing. We were culpable then and were culpable now. Definitely not in my name though.

I am sad and angry and feel helpless to do much except give money to Medical Aid for Palestine. It is genocide. Thanks for writing Debbie

Thank for reading this, Connie and for sharing your feelings.I think we all feel like this. I have no spare money to give, really, but I do what I can. I think having some positive actions to get hold of helps a bit with the feelings of helplessness and protest can yield results ultimately. Politicians hate negative public opinion!
