Hi Debbie, I am standing with you today...on the edge of despair (mine is health related). ...you are not alone. Resilience is a quality I aspire to and can see in you. All is not lost. I hope you and I can see glimmers of lovely that today holds for us. Meanwhile come sit down next to me...... https://youtu.be/bRD51qEJ8t4?si=uecZ0lx4QZ4cy92N
Hi Julie, I’m sorry you’re going through tough times and on the edge of despair. 🙁 I know you to be a beautiful and resilient woman, and hope that you see some resolution to your situation.
The sun is shining right now and your words have bought tears and cheer xx
I’m so sorry you’re going through so much and that you feel unsupported too. It is important to support each other. And the practical drag of promotion is exhausting and baffling. I’m not sure I see half the things I’d like to see. I can see how awful the UC report must be. But no one is the report anyone writes about them. (On a lighter note, sorry I can’t help eat the ginger cake. Could any of it be shopped into ‘bites’ and iced and sold? Not for me sadly!)
I never feel a lack of support from friends. We are fortunate to have good friends who we can be real with. Thank you.
Technical business support is out there but it’s the other stuff, the solidarity, the shared experiences that I think helps put creatives challenges into perspective. I’d like to live under a rock a paint and write, frankly,,but no one would ever see what I make,so engage, want is a requirement of the creative life!
The UC report didn’t help yesterday because it was a bad day anyway, but I know how hard I work, despite not earning a ‘proper’ living from it!
I’ll give the ginger cake away and freeze any that’s left. I’d send you some if it wasn’t a weekend coming up. It keeps rather well!

I agree, it's important for creative people to support each other
It can make a big difference to how we perceive things, I believe.
